Sergio Reguilon, who was on loan, has been returned to Tottenham Hotspur by Manchester United.

Sergio Reguilon rejoined Tottenham Hotspur after concluding his loan tenure at Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur has welcomed back Sergio Reguilon, the Spanish defender, after his loan spell at Manchester United was cut short. Reguilon had joined United on a season-long loan in September to provide cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. During his time at United, Reguilon made a total of 12 appearances for the club across various competitions. However, with Shaw and Malacia nearing their return, Manchester United decided to activate a break clause in the loan agreement, resulting in Reguilon’s return to his parent club. United confirmed this development in a statement, stating that Reguilon will now be rejoining Tottenham Hotspur.
Sergio successfully carried out the purpose for which he was recruited, which was to fill in for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia during their extended absences due to injuries. Although Luke has been absent from the last two matches due to a minor injury, it is anticipated that the English player will make a comeback soon. On the other hand, Tyrell is gradually nearing his return from a knee injury. Reguilon, aged 27, had previously spent the previous season on loan at Atletico Madrid. Prior to that, he had joined Spurs on a five-year contract from Real Madrid in 2020 and had participated in 52 league games during his initial two seasons.
