Late Winner for Wrexham as Paul Mullin Makes Comeback

In an enthralling encounter between Wrexham and Doncaster Rovers, Elliott Lee stole the show with a late winner that secured victory for the home side. The match also marked the return of Paul Mullin, who made a triumphant comeback after recovering from a punctured lung.

Wrexham took the lead in the first half when Luke Young’s deflected shot found the back of the net, leaving Doncaster goalkeeper Ian Lawlor with no chance. However, their joy was short-lived as Modou Faal, on loan from West Brom, headed in the equalizer from Joe Ironside’s cross.

With the score level at 1-1, Mullin was introduced into the game, much to the delight of the Wrexham faithful. The prolific striker, who had been Wrexham’s player of the year for the past two seasons, had been sidelined since his injury during a pre-season friendly against Manchester United.

As the game approached its climax, it was Lee who emerged as the hero for Wrexham. His deflected strike found its way past Lawlor, securing all three points for his team. The victory propelled Wrexham from 13th to seventh in the League Two table, a significant jump in their quest for promotion.

It wasn’t just Mullin who made a notable appearance for Wrexham, as former Scotland international Steven Fletcher also made his debut for the home side. Fletcher, who had recently joined the club, came off the bench and showed glimpses of his quality.

On the other hand, Doncaster Rovers’ struggles continued as they remained rooted to the bottom of the table. Despite Faal’s equalizer, they were unable to salvage any points from the match.
