Ten years ago, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ was hailed as the most violent film in Indian cinema. However, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has surpassed ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ in terms of bloodshed with his recently released film. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, famous for ‘Kabir Singh’, had already declared during the trailer launch that this would be the most violent film ever. Apart from violence, the film also has several other elements, including Ranbir Kapoor’s electrifying performance, which perfectly embodies the title’s animal instinct. This character breaks all the rules and laws of civilized society for the sake of his father’s honor and life. It is important to note that this film will not appeal to the faint-hearted.
The story of ‘Animal’ begins approximately three and a half hours long, where the story starts with an old Ranbir Kapoor. Vijay, a student in school, not only considers his billionaire businessman father, Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), as his idol but also loves him to the extent of madness. On his father’s birthday, he not only gets beaten up by the teacher for just saying ‘Happy Birthday’ to him but also manages to come home after running away from school. But Balbir, who is busy day and night in his business, cannot give his son the love and time that Vijay desires.
Vijay, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor, has only one desire as a young cyclist – to somehow gain his father’s attention and impress him. However, his aggressive behavior and actions only push him further away from his father. Vijay, who is a student in school, one day takes matters into his own hands and uses a machine gun to teach a lesson to the college students who rag his sister. This leads Balbir Singh to send him to a hostel to discipline him. Vijay realizes that in his absence, his brother-in-law has taken control of his father’s business empire. He also misbehaves with his brother-in-law and at that moment, Balbir Singh realizes that there has been no change in Vijay even after returning from the hostel.
As an alpha male (the most powerful male in the group), Vijay falls in love at first sight with Geetanjali (played by Rashmika Mandanna). Then, he breaks Geetanjali’s engagement and stands in front of her directly.
Will Vijay be able to seek revenge from the attackers who attempted to kill his father? Will he become a part of civilized society? What will happen to his wife and family in this bloody game? What is the reason behind Vijay’s violent and dangerous behavior? To find out, you will have to watch the movie.
