‘The Fable,’ directed by Raam Reddy, is set to make its world premiere at the 74th Berlin Film Festival. This remarkable achievement for Indian cinema marks the second time in the past three decades that an Indian film will be showcased in a prominent competitive section of the Berlinale. The movie, a collaboration between the United States and India, boasts a talented ensemble cast, including renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee and newcomer Hiral Sidhu.
‘The Fable’ is set to make its debut at the prestigious Berlinale in 2024, with an evening premiere on the opening day. This prime slot is usually reserved for highly anticipated films, highlighting the anticipation surrounding Raam Reddy’s second feature after the success of his acclaimed film ‘Thithi.’ The movie, a collaboration between the US and India, boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, debutant Hiral Sidhu, and child actor Awan Pookot.

Indian representation in the Encounters Competition at the Berlin Film Festival has been limited, with the last Indian film being ‘The Shepherdess and The Seven Songs’ in 2020.
