The World Cup final, the most significant event in international football, will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as confirmed by FIFA when they unveiled the match schedule for the 2026 edition of this prestigious tournament on Monday. With a total of 104 games and 48 teams competing for the iconic trophy, the FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the largest edition of this global spectacle to date. This historic event will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with matches being held in 16 different cities across these three countries.

The World Cup final is scheduled to take place in New Jersey on July 19th. The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford serves as the home stadium for both the New York Giants and New York Jets of the National Football League. Canada, one of the co-hosts, has been allocated 13 games, with ten of them being group-stage matches held in Toronto and Vancouver. Mexico, another co-host, will host three games, including ten group-stage encounters in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. The remaining matches of the World Cup 2026 will be spread across 11 cities in the United States. Toronto, Mexico City, and Los Angeles have been granted the privilege of hosting their respective national teams’ opening matches in the FIFA World Cup.
