This Virat Kohli doppelganger was seen donning the jersey of the Indian men’s senior national team and sporting sunglasses as he graciously interacted with individuals who approached him for photographs.
As the crowd grew larger, the individual posing as Virat Kohli attempted to evade it, as captured in the widely circulated video. Regrettably, his efforts to escape the throng of people proved futile.
In Ayodhya, the city of Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, there were sightings of individuals who bear a striking resemblance to Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. This occurrence took place on a significant day for the nation, as the consecration of the Ram temple was successfully concluded in the afternoon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a leading role in the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, where the unveiling of Ram Lalla was witnessed by the entire country.
A multitude of followers gathered in Ayodhya to participate in the Ram temple ceremony on Monday. Distinguished individuals from various fields, including entrepreneurs, sports icons, and Bollywood actors, were present at the event, representing their fame and nationwide recognition.
On Monday, the Ram temple ceremony witnessed the presence of several renowned sports personalities including Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, Mithali Raj, and badminton star Saina Nehwal.
Virat Kohli, along with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, received an invitation to attend the Ram Mandir ceremony at their residence earlier this month. However, Kohli was noticeably absent from the ceremony in Ayodhya on Monday.
In addition to this, Kohli has also decided to withdraw from the first two Tests of the upcoming 5-match series against England, citing personal reasons. Despite India’s training camp in Hyderabad for the first Test, which is scheduled to begin on January 25, Kohli was seen at the airport on Sunday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a detailed statement expressing their respect for Kohli’s decision to withdraw from the initial stages of the highly anticipated series. The statement also mentioned that Kohli had discussions with captain Rohit Sharma and the team management before making this decision.
“Virat has had conversations with Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors, and he has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations require his presence and undivided attention,” stated the BCCI.
Furthermore, the Indian cricket board urged fans and media to refrain from speculating about the specific details of the personal reasons that led to Kohli’s absence from the first two Tests.
