Dead Reckoning Part Two has been postponed to 2025 due to an actor strike.

The eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been postponed by a year due to the ongoing actors’ strike, which has resulted in over three months of work stoppage. This delay highlights the challenges and schedule adjustments faced by Hollywood studios during this period.
Paramount Pictures recently announced that they have shifted the release date of the next Mission: Impossible film from June 28 to May 23, 2025. The production of the movie, directed by Christopher McQuarrie and titled Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, was paused in July to allow Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast to embark on an international promotion campaign for Dead Reckoning.
Due to the ongoing labor turmoil in Hollywood, several films, including Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, have experienced delays in their release plans. While Dead Reckoning received positive reviews and achieved a solid box office performance, it fell short of the commercial success of previous installments, such as Fallout and Top Gun: Maverick. Additionally, the labor crisis has also affected the release plans of movies scheduled for next year, requiring some of them to be postponed to allow for proper promotion and production. For example, Dune: Part Two was pushed back to March to ensure the stars can promote it effectively.
