Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been granted another 21-day parole.

Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who was convicted in a rape and murder case, has been granted parole for a duration of 21 days.

Dera chief, serving a sentence for raping two women, will be released on parole for a murder case. He was granted 40 days of parole in January and October last year.

Ram Rahim, a controversial leader, will stay at an ashram in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat after his 40-day parole sparked controversy and raised questions against the Manohar Lal Khattar government. The Haryana CM stated that getting parole after completing all procedures was the Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s right. However, Rahim celebrated his parole by cutting a cake with a sword and conducting online “satsang” sessions when he came out of jail on parole or furlough.

Ram Rahim, a former Dera Sacha Sauda chief, was released on parole in 2022 after serving a month-long sentence in June. He was also out on bail in October and June, and for three weeks furlough in February. Rahim and four others were convicted in 2019 for conspiring to kill Dera manager Ranjit Singh and murdering a journalist over 16 years ago.
