Endrick, the talented young Brazilian forward who is set to join Real Madrid, has played down any comparisons to his “biggest idol,” Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as the legendary Brazilian footballer Pele.

Endrick, the young Brazilian forward who will be joining Real Madrid in July, has made it clear that he does not want to be compared to football legends Cristiano Ronaldo or Pele. Instead, he aims to establish his own identity and inspire other young players through his performances on the field. Endrick’s move to Real Madrid at the age of 18 is a significant step in his career, and he is determined to make a name for himself in the sport.

During an interview with CazeTV, Endrick, who is currently a player for Palmeiras in Brazil’s Serie A club, expressed his indifference towards the comparisons made between him and renowned footballers such as Pele and Ronaldo. The young talent, who will be joining Real Madrid in July 2024 upon reaching the age of 18, discussed the weighty responsibilities that accompany his upcoming move to the Spanish giants.

Endrick expressed his determination to shoulder the immense responsibility that has been bestowed upon him. He is prepared to face the pressure head-on, as he is aware of his ability to support his family and inspire other young individuals. This rising star gained widespread attention from the media when the renowned Spanish team, which has triumphed in the UEFA Champions League 14 times, showed interest in him and secured his services for the future in December 2022. Subsequently, his career flourished, leading to his inclusion in the Brazil National Football senior team at the tender age of 17.

Endrick is poised to join Real Madrid’s attacking lineup, alongside Brazilian talents Vincius Jr and Rodrygo Goes. With Karim Benzema’s departure to Saudi Arabia, there is a strong possibility that the 17-year-old could assume the role of coach Carlo Ancelotti’s new ‘number 9’. Endrick, who openly admires Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, has drawn numerous comparisons to the Portuguese superstar.

“He is my greatest idol, a player who shattered records through his exemplary dedication. He is more than just an athlete; he is someone everyone should look up to. Regardless of the circumstances, he always strives to be the best. He serves as a role model for any player aspiring to excel in their career,” Endrick expressed to A Bola regarding Cristiano Ronaldo.

Endrick has played a pivotal role in Palmeiras’ success in the Brazilian Serie A, with the club currently topping the league table. In the 2023-24 season, the young Brazilian forward has netted 11 goals in 31 appearances for Palmeiras. As significant international tournaments like the Paris Olympics 2024 and the Copa América draw near, Endrick’s confident mindset could prove beneficial for both Real Madrid and the Brazilian National team.
