Julia Roberts, the renowned Hollywood actress, recently revealed that she had nearly rejected the adored romantic comedy ‘Notting Hill.’ Alongside her, the film also featured the talented British actor, Hugh Grant.
Julia Roberts recently opened up about her initial hesitation to take on the role in the beloved romantic comedy, Notting Hill. In an interview with Vogue, she candidly shared that portraying a movie actress was one of the most challenging experiences of her career. She admitted feeling quite uncomfortable with the role.
Julia mentioned that she was initially hesitant to accept the role as it appeared quite uncomfortable and unfamiliar. She confessed that she had no idea how to portray that character.
During the same interview, the renowned Hollywood figure also discussed the memorable moment in the movie where her character expresses her affection for William, portrayed by Grant. She acknowledged that although she recognized it as a remarkable scene, she could not have anticipated it becoming “the line.”
Directed by Roger Mitchell, the film was released in 1999 and featured notable actors such as Hugh Bonneville and Emma Chambers, among others.
Roberts recently appeared in the Netflix movie, Leave the World Behind, alongside Ethan Hawke and Mahershala Ali, marking her most recent work in the industry.
