Neeraj Chopra extends his heartfelt wishes to the Indian football team in anticipation of the AFC Asian Cup 2023.
Neeraj Chopra, the exceptional javelin thrower and Olympic medalist, has fervently appealed to the fans to rally behind the Indian football team as they embark on their AFC Asian Cup 2024 journey. In their inaugural match, India will go head-to-head against Australia.

India has been placed in a group with Australia, Uzbekistan, and Syria for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup. Their first match will be against Australia on January 13. Neeraj Chopra, an Olympic medallist, has encouraged fans to support the Indian team. He has also sent his best wishes to the team as they begin their campaign. This will be India’s fifth Asian Cup campaign.

Numerous well-wishes have been received by the team prior to the tournament, and the most recent one came from Neeraj. In a video posted on AIFF’s Instagram account, the renowned javelin thrower expressed his optimism regarding the team’s preparations.

Igor Stimac anticipates that India will secure a position in the top 10 of Asia’s football rankings within the next four years. Coach Stimac expressed his belief that India has emerged as a formidable force in football, but acknowledged that it will require an additional four years to break into the prestigious top 10 in Asia.

India’s roster for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 consists of a talented group of players across various positions. In the goalkeeping department, we have Amrinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Vishal Kaith. The defensive line is comprised of Akash Mishra, Lalchungnunga, Mehtab Singh, Nikhil Poojary, Pritam Kotal, Rahul Bheke, Sandesh Jhingan, and Subhasish Bose. The midfielders include Anirudh Thapa, Brandon Fernandes, Deepak Tangri, Lalengmawia Ralte, Liston Colaco, Naorem Mahesh Singh, Sahal Abdul Samad, Suresh Singh Wangjam, and Udanta Singh.
