Pankaj Tripathi breathes life into Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the trailer of ‘Main Atal Hoon’.

The trailer of actor Pankaj Tripathi’s film ‘Main Atal Hoon’ was launched today in Mumbai. In this film, Pankaj Tripathi has portrayed the role of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Before stepping into acting, Pankaj Tripathi had an interest in politics. He was also a student leader in the student union, but he felt that the journey of politics is filled with thorns. Therefore, he chose the path of acting by leaving politics.
During the launch of the trailer for the film ‘Main Atal Hoon’, actor Pankaj Tripathi was seen in a traditional kurta and dhoti. Pankaj Tripathi stated, “My father has always worn kurta and dhoti throughout his life, and I really enjoy wearing them too.” When asked if he would step into the field of politics, Pankaj Tripathi replied, “I am a Bihari.” In the course of the conversation, Pankaj Tripathi subtly indicated that he could venture into the field of politics. However, he also mentioned, “The acting business is going really well right now, but if society needs change, then politics is very important.”
During the launch of the film’s trailer, when Pankaj Tripathi was asked if he had ever met former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, “Atal ji’s personality has had a great impact on my life. If I have ever attended a political party’s rally, it was Atal ji’s program. He came to Patna’s Gandhi Maidan twice and I had the opportunity to listen to his speech both times. I was 20 years old then. I never even thought that a film would be made on his life and I would get the chance to portray Atal ji’s character in that film. At that time, I had never even thought about acting.”
The film ‘I am Atal’ is set to release on January 19, 2024. Pankaj Tripathi says, ‘Atal Ji has had a long and successful career. It is not possible to showcase his entire personality in two hours and ten minutes. However, we have shown some untold aspects of his life, which can inspire people. It is possible that after watching the film, people may complain that many events were not shown. But Atal Ji’s personality is so immense that it was not possible to portray it in two hours and ten minutes.’
During the launch of the film trailer, Pankaj Tripathi stated, “I had a lot of interest in politics during my college days. I was also the leader of the student union, which led me to spend a week in jail. I felt that the journey of politics is full of thorns. That’s why I chose acting over politics. Acting here is similar to politics, but it requires less talking and more acting.”
