Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley was hospitalized for pneumonia after completing the band’s U.S. tour.

Deryck Whibley, frontman of Sum 41, has been hospitalized with pneumonia after the band’s U.S. tour ended. His wife, Ari Whibley, confirmed the situation and plans to spend the next few days in the hospital.

Ari, 32, posted a photo of herself holding musician Deryck, 43, with a pulse oximeter and IV attached, and Deryck being taken into an ambulance.

The patient’s heart is straining, and there’s a possibility of heart failure. The situation brings back difficult memories of him being connected to wires and IVs.

She emphasized her witnessing her son’s strength and will keep everyone updated, but urged her to keep him in your heart over the next few days.

Deryck, a singer, has faced multiple health scares, including a collapse in 2014 due to excessive alcohol use. He admitted that his liver and kidneys collapsed due to hard boozing. In 2014, he collapsed unconscious after drinking hard and was rushed to the hospital with needles and I.V.s.

Deryck, a member of Sum 41, has been hospitalized and has one remaining show in Paris. The Canadian group, which includes Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo, announced their disbandment after finishing their 2023 tour dates. The band expressed gratitude to fans for their support and the best moments of their lives.

Deryk, previously married to Avril Lavigne, has been married to Ari since 2015. The couple remained in good terms and collaborated on Lavigne’s 2011 album, Goodbye Lullaby.
