Suspense ends over Chhattisgarh CM: In the legislative party meeting, a seal was placed in the name of Vishnudev Sai.


The suspense surrounding the name of the Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh has come to an end. Vishnudev Sai has been chosen as the new Chief Minister of the state. A crucial meeting was held on Sunday at the BJP office in Raipur to select the leader of the legislative party, attended by the newly elected 54 BJP MLAs. The meeting concluded with the endorsement of Vishnudev Sai’s name. After the finalization of Vishnudev Sai’s name, his supporters are celebrating with great enthusiasm. Party workers, along with leaders, can be seen dancing to the beats of drums. Bursting firecrackers and with great fanfare, BJP workers celebrated outside the Kushabhau Thakre complex. Sai will be the first tribal Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. However, the case related to former CM Ajit Jogi, who is considered the state’s first tribal CM, is pending in court.
Vishnudev Sai is considered a prominent leader of the tribal community. Vishnudev Sai is a big name because he has been a four-time Member of Parliament, two-time Member of Legislative Assembly, Central Minister of State, and also served as the Pradesh Adhyaksh (State President) twice. Along with this, he also has extensive experience working in the organization. In the 2023 Legislative Assembly elections, he also won from the Kunkuri constituency. Even after being removed from the position of Pradesh Adhyaksh, he remained consistently connected to the party.
The beginning of the political journey in 1989
He started his political journey in 1989. Initially, he was a village headman. He was associated with the Sangh. In 1990, the Bharatiya Janata Party showed confidence in him and gave him a ticket for the Legislative Assembly constituency, in which he emerged victorious. After that, he was elected as a Member of Parliament three times from the Raigarh Lok Sabha constituency.
