Update on Thalaivar 171: Lokesh Kanagaraj reveals plans to commence filming in April 2024.
Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth are set to collaborate for the very first time in the highly anticipated film, tentatively named ‘Thalaivar 171’. The director recently confirmed that the long-awaited project will commence production in April 2024.
Lokesh Kanagaraj is filled with enthusiasm as he prepares to embark on his forthcoming project alongside the legendary Rajinikanth. Tentatively named ‘Thalaivar 171’, this film signifies the first-ever collaboration between Lokesh and the esteemed actor. In a recent interview, the filmmaker disclosed that production for the movie will commence in April of the following year. Additionally, he shared that Kamal Haasan was the initial individual to extend his heartfelt wishes for their highly anticipated partnership.
‘Thalaivar 171’, the upcoming directorial venture of Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to commence filming in 2024. Renowned actor Rajinikanth will be playing the lead role in this highly anticipated movie, with Sivakarthikeyan also expected to have a significant part.
During an interview with anchor Gobinath, Lokesh revealed that the production of the film will officially begin in April 2024. He expressed his confidence in completing the writing process by that time and mentioned that it will be an exhilarating action-packed film for Rajini Sir, marking his return to the genre after a considerable gap.
During the same interview, Lokesh also mentioned that Kamal Haasan, the renowned actor, was the initial individual to extend his well wishes for ‘Thalaivar 171’. Lokesh stated, “He personally called me and conveyed his good luck wishes.”
The director of ‘Leo’ also mentioned that Rajinikanth expressed great joy upon being acquainted with the film’s script. He recollected the moment and shared that he had presented the script to the actor in the presence of music composer and singer Anirudh Ravichander. Furthermore, he added, “After I concluded the narration, Rajinikanth stood up from his seat and approached me with an embrace. It brought me immense happiness.”
Lokesh further stated his commitment to undertaking upcoming projects, namely ‘Kaithi 2’, ‘Vikram 2’, and ‘Rolex’, in sequential order. On December 16, Lokesh conveyed through his X handle that he would be temporarily stepping away from social media to concentrate on ‘Thalaivar 171’.
In the meantime, Rajinikanth is presently filming for director TJ Gnanavel’s ‘Thalaivar 170’. Upon completion of this project, he will proceed to ‘Thalaivar 171’ alongside Lokesh. The extravagant production will be backed by Sun Pictures. Additionally, the director disclosed that ‘Thalaivar 171’ will be an independent film, separate from the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
